COURSE & CATEGORIES: The Xtreme Urban 5k is a city run like NO other. You will hop, dodge, and crawl through the streets/parks of Salem going over fences, under obstacles, through tires, with one heck of a slanted wall to climb just before the finish line! If you are a "SERIOUS" Runner - leave your Garmin at home and enjoy the change! This race is designed for the XTrEmE Adventurist looking for a challenge and one hell of a race course. This 5k is like no other city run you will ever do! Take on the challenge by yourself or on a four person team.

Obstacles:

Some of the obstacles will include fence climbs, a barb wire crawl, 12 ft slanted wall, beach run, rock climbs, low crawls, tires, under buses, water balloon war zone, neighborhood hero with hoses, Junk Yard Alley, Balance Beam, and much more....

Start Times:

The event will start at 9am! Waves of approximately 100 people will depart every 10 minutes with the last wave starting at 11:00am.

Make sure you are there at least 45 minutes before your wave to pick up your race packet and timing chip.

Registration will open at 7:30 for runners going out in the first wave!

"XTREME RUNNERS:" Get out fast from the start as the course will quickly narrow down to a singletrack descent. It will open up again after that, but if your in it to win it and compete, you’ll need to dominate from the beginning. If your goal is just to finish, then take your time and enjoy the challenge's that come your way!

RULES: The course and all obstacles must be successfully completed to qualify for prizes. If you can not complete an obstacle you will have to perform some kind of physical challenge. Teams are 4 participants. All team members must cross the finish line together for the team to qualify for prizes. If some members decide to go quicker than others – they must wait at the finish line for the rest of the team before crossing the finish line.

TEAM REGISTRATION: Teams consist of 4 members. All team members must register together. All pre-registered entrants will receive confirmation 1 week prior to the event..PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE ATHLETE PACKET!!

PACKET PICKUP: Race day on race site from 7:30am-10am. PLEASE arrive at least 45minutes BEFORE your wave start.

Post Race:

Stick around for the post race breakfast BBQ free for all Xtreme Athletes. This BBQ will include: scrambled eggs, breakfast sausages, cider dounuts and more. Enjoy music by DJ Lanie Mac while visitinall of our sponsor booths and vendors.

Spectators- $5 to participate in the BBQ brought to you buy the Salem Boys and Girls Club.

Event Charities:

Proceeds will be allocated to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Salem. We are so proud to be supporting such a great community organization.

Refunds:

No race refunds. NOTE: In order to maintain the number of 4-person teams in this event, we do allow team member substitutions. You can make the substitution using the online waiver or do it on race day. There is no charge for a team member substitution
